I Know This Because I Was You
For years I was a software engineer at Amazon and then Microsoft. On paper I was healthy. My doctor said so. But I crashed every afternoon, I could not hold my focus in a meeting, and I was short with the people I love most. I felt like the worst husband and the worst dad, because by the time I got home there was nothing left in me to give them.
So I stopped accepting "normal." I cleaned up how I ate, and I kept testing. A saliva test in May 2025 listed my morning cortisol below its printed range. A urine test that same morning listed my urinary bile acids in the High band. I took both May tests while on a hormone plan that included testosterone injections.
In Functional Diagnostic Nutrition, a low morning cortisol is one of the things we look at when someone feels tired in the morning, and high urinary bile acids read as a liver under stress. No earlier test of mine included urinary bile acids.

Questions Before You Buy
What happens after I buy?
You get an email from Biocanic, the platform I use to hold your forms and, after we meet, your results. The email has a link to set up your account, and you fill in your forms there. They take about 30 to 45 minutes in total, and you can do them in a few sittings. Your hair test form arrives by email with simple written collection instructions and a short how-to video. You collect a small hair sample at home, mail it to the lab, and reply with the word "mailed" and the day you mailed it. When your results come back to me and all your forms are in, you and I have your session by video and go through them.
How does the hair collection work?
You get your hair test form by email, along with written instructions and a short video that shows you how to collect your sample. You collect a small hair sample at home, following those instructions, and mail it to the lab. It is not blood, and you never have to visit a clinic.
How long until I get my results?
About two to three weeks after your sample reaches the lab. When your results come back to me, I read them next to your forms. If any form is still open, I will ask you to finish it. When my interpretation is done, I will let you know and you book a time for our session. You see your results in that session, while I go through what they mean, and afterwards you can see them again whenever you want in your Biocanic account.
Can I get a refund?
